Are you there, Chelsea? It’s me, Sam

Chelsea Handler is the funniest woman on the planet, hands down.  I’ve been a fan of hers for years, and I am convinced we are supposed to be best friends.  I honestly don’t think I would get sick of her at all.  Think about it.  She loves vodka, a lot.  Just like me.  She has a knack for saying really inappropriate things.  Just like me.  She has a love for little people.  Just like me.  It’s perfect.

Her books My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands & Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea are insanely funny and I read both of them in less than a day’s time.   She is raw and abrasive, and has had me in tears more times than I can count.  It’s all so natural for her too.  I really appreciate the fact she doesn’t try to be funny; she just is.

Her late night talk show Chelsea Lately is, in my opinion, the best show on television.  It’s really too bad the assholes at E! aren’t airing re-runs regularly anymore.  You know you’ve struck gold when you can watch a show that features guests like Margaret Cho as part of a round table discussion and talk about how stupid most people are.  Just today, I re-watched the episode featuring Cho (thanks to YouTube!) and nearly peed a ring around myself.  The panel was discussing Sarah Palin and how kind-of-attractive they thought she was.  Cho chimed in and explained she was fired from the Obama campaign for making the statement

I would eat her moose-burger, from behind… Eskimo style

How could you not appreciate and love a show like this?  I do understand why people don’t like her, or think she is obnoxious.  I get it, but I don’t agree with it.  Clearly those people are idiots.
